GE / Nuclear Power / Saving the world... →
andym801: mikehudack: jayparkinsonmd: I was privileged enough to meet Eric Loewen. He works for GE’s nuclear energy division. They’ve invented something called a PRISM reactor. It uses nuclear waste for power. The US uses 3 terawatts of energy every year. The nuclear waste already buried across America can produce 300 terawatts of energy using a GE PRISM reactor, thus powering the US for...

meghanasha: Is News for Free? Not if you have to buy the newspaper.  Or pay for cable.  Or the internet.  But realistically speaking, you’re probably already paying for cable and the internet or you’re getting it from work or the library or, from what I understand, public parks in Europe (which btw we should really get moving on in the US) in which case we can consider it gratis.  So, we’re going...

Pig-Out Weekends: How to Undo Overindulgence
via Yahoo! Diet & Fitness “It happens to the best of us. The overindulgent weekend. And if your coming-attractions calendar doesn’t already include at least one bachelorette bash, Big Wedding, and a few graduation parties, it soon will. So what’s a person to do just weeks before swimsuit season? Go. Have a blast. Forget the diet. Just implement a before-and-after ...

The decade's best television characters, according... →
“Zap2it’s first-ever poll of the best television characters in the 2000s revealed a number of things, chief among them the abiding love for “Veronica Mars” and other long-gone shows, especially those from the mind of Joss Whedon. Plus, there’s still a lot of love out there for “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”“

Principle of Evil Marskmanship →
bestofwikipedia: The Principle of Evil Marksmanship (also known as the Stormtrooper Effect) states that enemy marksmen in action films are often very bad shots and almost never harm the main characters. The Fallacy of Low Expectations or How I Learned... →
“An ill wind is blowing. You can read it in the blogosphere, you can see it on TV, you can feel it wafting out from Studio City, CA. It’s the old expectations game, and never has it been played harder or stronger than by Paramount last weekend with their G.I. Joe circus act. But really, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was the same deal. So let’s get into it, the arguments the...
